It’s official, we’ve now been married for more than 3 years! Time has really flown by, and that doesn’t seem to be confined just to us. My brother and some friends have also said how much time has flown.
At times, yesterday, the anniversary, was hard for both of us. Just remembering where we were last year with health and how little progress seems to have been made. Also all the “have to be happy on our anniversary” thoughts were also just extra pressure for Hazel’s already fragile state of mind. But we managed to get through it in the end, lots of phone calls and lovely cards helped. And we managed to have a nice relaxing day together doing our best to forget about the difficult things where possible.
We went out to Kingston at lunchtime and bought some books from Borders. It was good to be out, we bought some sandwiches from Marks and Spencer and sat out in the cold air to eat them. One of the highlights of the trip was the disovery of a new shop. It is called “Shakeaway” and is a shop that sells only milkshakes. Over 150 different types of them. You can see all the flavours here. Hazel and myself must have stood there for a good five minutes going “oooh that sounds nice!” or “eeeww! that’s looks disgusting!” In the end Hazel opted for a Ferrero Rocher milkshake and I had an Oreo Cookie one. My was lovely, but Hazel said hers was a little too sickly sweet. We both highly recommend the place and intend to go back at some point.
We had a quiet evening in yesterday and watched 2 DVD’s, “Walking Tall” starring The Rock and “S.W.A.T.” which had Samuel L Jackson, LL Cool J, and Colin Farrell in it. If it wasn’t for The Rock Walking Tall would have been awful, as it was even with him in it it was bad. Quite shallow and predictable and really short … 70 Mins. S.W.A.T was a lot better, but still not great as it wasn’t very realistic or believable, but nowhere near as bad as Walking Tall.
I was at the docs this morning. My chest infection has cleared up a little but is still there so the doc has asked me to keep an eye on it for the next few days. I have my own ’stock’ of antibiotics at home so if it does get worse I can start a course off by myself.
He was really pleased to here that Hazel’s appointment is so soon, he thinks that it being so soon is an indication that we will probably be seen by the consultant himself. The doc will be sending Hazel to the ‘vampires’ for more blood tests before then so we can take them with us to cut out any unnecessary delays. But he will monitor the situation until then by seeing me weekly.
I have a fair amount of school work to do now that I have been putting off for most of this week. So I will try to get as much of it done as possible this afternoon.

I was glad to hear that your chest infection is getting better and I just want to wish to two of you lots of luck when you go to Hazel’s appointment. I will be thinking of you and waiting to hear how she got on

Hi Neil! Congratulations on your 3rd year of marriage. I have enjoyed Hazel’s “company” for a very long time and I’m glad to see that she had brought you into the 21st century
I recently did that to my own husband by forcing him to use a cellular phone! I have been keeping up with Hazel and have been worried about the lack of progress reports. I’m happy to see she has posted recently and that you will also be keeping “me” informed.
